This project is a restaurant proposal for General Ken Jordan, a local resident and property owner in South Pittsburg, TN. Our class used resources and hands-on experiences to conduct thorough site research and develop individual proposals for a new restaurant on General Jordan's property for the South Pittsburg community. This two-story proposal offers a variety of dining atmospheres through connections to the Cedar Avenue street front and General Jordan's existing Base Camp.

South Pittsburg is located 30 miles west of Chattanooga. It is a small town with a strong historic background. McReynolds High School and an old City Cemetary are a couple of the key historic elements located there. General Jordan attended McReynolds High School, and it was an African-American school that served people living in Marion County and across Alabama and Georgia state lines. Some important elements of the community today are the Lodge Cast Iron manufacturing plant, South Pittsburg High School, Sweetens Cove Golf Course, and the annual National Cornbread Festival. There are only two other restaurants on Cedar Avenue ("Main St"), one of which being General Jordan's "Base Camp" (adjacent to this project) that is not yet opened.
